A long ways off, but it is next on the list. Lots of work still to be done. I didn't split the polys for correct smoothing - please excuse the odd lighting. -Kurt

I intend to make TRCX and blank skins. I've been considering Coaster, but I'd wait until 3DT releases their Coaster set so that I can match up the paint job to their F59 and bi-levels. P.S.: You haven't been rejected out of the file library requests - I've been taking about a week before doing the mass additions to the library. It's either the addons or the wait - take your pick -Kurt

i dont mind to wait either i hate the regular coaster f40ph tho! You mean the one off of Train-sim? Beh! It's off entirely, not to poke at it now but I've removed it from my system, the colors are a bit off slightly, and the "COASTER" is in the wrong font. It's in a regular font, it SHOULD be " COASTER ....yeah I know...I'm a rivet counter. lol Edit: The font is EARTH btw, download that and it'll look right

Feedback : I wouldn' t mind doing the COASTER ones , working off actual digital photos . Since 3D Trains appears to be doing a lot of work for "version 2", I bet you they will work off digital photos , for their next release .
In the meantime, I did indicate ( privately ) to Kurt, I will provide all possible assistance and help, for the design of this ( F40 PH 2C / 3C ) project , as I did , at one time, produce a 'master model" of those, intended for casting in resin , in HO scale ( model railroading ) .

So with these around the corner what paint scheme(s) have been considered for the model? Personally I can't stop drooling over them...'bout time we got some real passenger power!
Will you be painting a Caltrain or ACE version? I have lots of photos and details shots of the ACE units.

I wonder how easy TS modeler is to use. I feel like making a smart Hy-rail car

Kurt you are my hero.
Is it true you are coming out with a standard non-carbody F40PH also? I heard rumours of that.

P.S.: For those of you who haven't seen the latest T-S.com updates: The entire model has been mapped since the above photos were taken. Below is a stripped-down version that I put into the sim tonight to check animations: -Kurt

I think I have just seen my new favorite TS engine! Im going to hit it up with some shape modifications for the Caltrain engine. Is that ok kurt? I will just remove the K5 and stick a two chimer facing south next to the first vent. I will then cut the noselight off and stick it between the number boards.
I will also get my passenger 645E soundset released for this guy!

Ahh. Thanks! I have my soundset almost completed. I just need a few other sounds to capture. I had them on my portable HD which the usb cord broke. I may have to get them again. I have startup sounds too!
And they are also each recorded from interior and exterior. So they have exelent quality.
Can I release them here?

I'd be glad to host your soundset - and as a matter of fact, if it captures that all-important "feeling" of an F40PH-2C (EMD 645 + seperated HEP generator whine), I might make it the default for this unit when released. ----------------- On another note, some small revisions: Additional grill detail:Lights:-Kurt

Well super! I will be happy to send it to you when finished!
By the way, the hep sound is coming from a cummins hep generator. Im not sure if the other ones do, or if they sound completly different. So I might be able to catch an ACE one if you would like.

Cummins should be fine. IIRC, TRCX uses the Caterpillar 3412's, but it shouldn't matter much in the long run.
