I staged some shots on Marias Pass with all of my current Metra and RTA Locos in place. I just got Chiland fully installed (forgot the update!) and I'm attempting to get a Metra F40C. So expect plenty of Chiland Metra pics in the near future! (today and on).

That's a pretty impressive lineup of Metra equipment throughout the decades. Very nice.

My F40C just came in! So I just had to make another garble of screens with my new F40C and my self reskinned SW1200 and reskinned Hy-rail S10 truck. The F40PHM's size has been reduced by 5% for a more accurate look... Yes, I know that the SW1200 does not have those vents Now my Metra library spans from the 50's all the way to now. P.S. if you're ever in the Chicago area, you'll probably never see Metra's SW1200 but I caught it at Fox Lake just last weekend...

Neonspinnazz, just curious - were you able to re-size the F40PHM-2 and retain the proper gauge between the wheels in the process? I might be game for a reskin of that model, if that is the case.

I was not the one to resize it, the author had made an update of the model because (I guess) of the e-mails he got because of its older, larger size.
It is a lower res locomotive but it was the only F40PHM-2 I could find. The original needed a couple of upgrades (cabview, sound) all of which I've gotten from NALW's F40 set. As far as the readme goes, reskinning is completely allowed!
Here's its Train-Sim zip if you're interested: f40phmmt.zip
I've got a question though
Do you know what happened to Means Locomotive Works? They seemed to have completely disappeared...

He he, look at what I did just by sharing! Judging by Kurt's awesome library, this is going to be good... P.S. There was a nice ad on the forum home page when I logged in. I clicked it, and now my iTunes library looks better without all of the "Track 1" and "no album artwork" type of stuff.

Just out of curiosity, did the F40C's really have 6 axles? I have the same reskin.

Yes it does. I "drag raced" the 614 (in that picture) today when leaving a hardware store. The tracks and the road run parallel for about a good 3 miles, with the road speed limit the same as the rails. I drove even with the cab of the locomotive for a whole mile before the light ahead turned red. Long live the F40C! I forgot to add: Metra sold all but 3 F40Cs, one is now in a scrapyard. They still own and now operates both the 611 and 614 since the MP36s are breaking down. They were sitting in a yard rusting away until they were needed for duty. There are rumors of Metra buying most of them back
