I have a favor to ask, will somebody create- - a metra electric route along with the south shore line route
- the 2 Metra electric (the old and new) Highliners.
- And with the today's nictd interurbans and with the new nictd highliners

Well I can maybe...MAYBE!!!!!!! help but not for sure but be able to do the track work but i am not a expert route builder so the file maybe quite large. If you can send me pics and more info on the route ,how many miles? what kind of signals? what is the shore line route? what is a highliner? is it like all flat? ect.? please tell me I maybe able to help using google maps/earth.

I have not looked, But some of, if not all the south shore track might exist in the monon2 route. even if you get the route, the problem will be the lack of Highliner cars. I started to make one for personal use years ago, It turned out pretty bad and I scrapped it. I think it was my first attempt at 3D. At some point, I did get the pantos correct and fixed the underside junk. Finding any sort of data or blueprints for it was next to impossible, I had to go to millennium park station and take photos of the ones sitting in the station overnight and measure off of the photos. I never did an interior, it was literally photos slapped on a box. It was sad in MSTS, it made decent scenery object, not something I wanted to drive.  If You are in Chicago, maybe if you're nice to metra training personnel, they might let you take a spin on the metra simulator. www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5eUNeaQKwo . is it just me or is this a lot like MSTS with a control stand? now that is a job, paid to play MSTS all day. I wonder if the simulator has people/morons running around the gates? I see that almost everyday. The only other games I can think of with Hi-Liners are transport tycoon patch and locomotion. maybe someone has made one for simutrains by now. |

Nice photo, I like it, please don't scrap it. I'll see if a can find any photo's for the route, signals, cantenary, the new metra electric and the route length. and if you still have the file for that highliner, can u e-mail it to me please? it's Atraingenius@aol.com thanks for replying- auston
